My Pöyry Story

'I can experience all aspects of the civil engineer profession'

Werner, Project Manager, Austria

Pöyry brings together people from different backgrounds to work towards a common goal.

"I have been working at the Pöyry Infra offices in Salzburg for the last six years, first as Project Engineer and later as Project Manager for the Plant and Pipeline Engineering division. As a civil engineer I have always wanted to experience as many aspects of this profession as possible, and working for Pöyry has allowed me to do exactly that, with one of our main projects somewhat unexpectedly leading me to work these last five years on a major pipeline infrastructure project in Albania.

This has been an especially interesting experience, not only because of the close co-operation with several international partners, but also due to the varied nature of the work involved – geological investigations, land use studies, pipeline design, road construction, and many other topics are part of this project. Thanks to Pöyry’s multi-faceted set-up my colleagues and I have been able to accomplish these diverse tasks according to the high standards that not only the customer demands but that we also set for ourselves.

For me, this has been a great example of how Pöyry brings together people from different backgrounds like mechanical engineering, civil engineering or geology to work towards a common goal – in the design office as well as in a small Albanian village at the end of the world."
