Sustainable Smart Cities
Cities are at the center of discussions on climate change, as they both greatly affect the greenhouse effect and are heavily exposed to its impacts. In the year 2050 around 6.3 billion people will live in urban areas leading to additional sustainability challenges. How can we make growing cities sustainable while improving quality of life?
The alarming signs of an accelerated change of climate along with global environmental issues require innovative and ambitious actions to overcome this. Cities play a central role as transformational hubs paving the way to a new vision of sustainable life on our planet.
