JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP ACQUIRES GERMAN TRANSPORTATION CONSULTING
BUSINESS

BPI-Consult GmbH, which is a part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's
Infrastructure & Environment business group, has acquired the
transportation consulting business of Heusch/Boesefeldt GmbH in
Germany. The acquired business units, situated in Aachen, Hamburg
and Munich, employ 55 people and their net sales amount to about EUR
3.4 million.

With its 14 regional offices, BPI-Consult GmbH is a major player in
the transportation sector in Germany. Heusch/Boesefeldt GmbH is one
of the market leaders in the German transportation consulting
business. The acquired business units focus strongly on public
transportation, telematics and road tunnel safety.

The combination of BPI-Consult's project know-how and
Heusch/Boesefeldt's consulting expertise will strongly improve the
Infrastructure & Environment business group's position in the German
transportation consulting market. The acquisition of
Heusch/Boesefeldt's consulting units strengthens the business
group's expertise and creates new opportunities for integrated
transportation planning projects, a strongly growing market both in
Western Europe and globally.

The Infrastructure & Environment business group, operating under the
brand name Jaakko Pöyry Infra, had net sales of EUR 108 million in
2001. Jaakko Pöyry Infra has offices in 12 countries and employs
some 1200 experts worldwide.
