JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP AWARDED A HYDROPOWER CONSULTANCY AND ENGINEERING PROJECT IN INDIA
Electrowatt Engineering AG (EWE), a Jaakko Pöyry Group company, has been awarded a EUR 9 million contract for the engineering and supervision of the Tuirial Hydropower Project in the State of Mizoram in India under the North Eastern Power Electric Corporation (NEEPCO).
The services for the 70 MW powerplant will commence in March 1999. The project is financed under a loan from the Japanese Overseas Economic Development Fund (OECF).
EWE is assisting NEECPO during the entire project period in the design, tendering and construction of the hydroelectric power plant.
Electrowatt Engineering is Switzerland's largest engineering company, with net sales of EUR 120 million and 1200 staff worldwide. Jaakko Pöyry Group has net sales of around EUR 380 million and employs some 4000 people worldwide.
