JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP AWARDED AN M&E SUPERVISORY CONTRACT IN BANGKOK - THAILAND
An association of four consulting companies led by Electrowatt Engineering (Thailand), a Jaakko Pöyry Group Company, has been awarded a USD 13.0 million contract for the monitoring of the M&E works on the Initial System Project for the Mass Rapid Transit Authority (MRTA)of Bangkok, Thailand. The share of Electrowatt Engineering in the Joint Venture is approx. 50 %, USD 6.5 million.
The Initial System Project is a heavy rail rapid transit system covering a route of approximately 20 kilometres with 18 stations and it is wholly underground with an at-grade depot.
The association consists of Electrowatt Engineering (Thailand) (EET), ScottWison Asia Pacific and two local consultancies - Infinity Services and SDC. The monitoring services for the MRTA will commence in July / August this year and are expected to
continue for more than four years until 2003 when the system will become operational.
Electrowatt Engineering (Thailand) (EET) is based in Bangkok and provides consulting services throughout Asia. EET has been directly involved in most of the rapid transit projects in the region for the last twenty years.
