JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP TO PARTICIPATE IN TESTLINER MACHINE PROJECT IN
GERMANY

Jaakko Pöyry Deutschland GmbH, which is part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's
Forest Industry business group, has been commissioned by Papierfabrik
Adolf Jass Schwarza GmbH to provide engineering and site services for
the new recycled paper based testliner/fluting machine to be built at
Rudolstadt-Schwarza in Thuringia. The value of the contract is about EUR
7 million.

The project consists of a recycled paper stock preparation system, a
liner/fluting machine and an automatic warehouse. Power, steam, water
and wastewater treatment services will be outsourced. The new production
line will have a capacity of 380 000 - 400 000 tons a year. It is
scheduled to start up at the end of 2004.

The engineering services will be jointly performed by Jaakko Pöyry
Deutschland and Jaakko Pöyry Oy, Finland.

The Forest Industry business group, operating under the brand name
Jaakko Pöyry, had net sales of EUR 175 million in 2002. The Forest
Industry business group has offices in 18 countries and employs some
2200 experts worldwide.
