Key themes of Nordic Business Forum drive Pöyry’s transformation towards High Performance Organisation

Pöyry is determined to building a High Performance Organization (HPO), and constant development of people is an essential part of this transformation. Pöyry’s selected key experts and leaders from several countries tuned in for the Nordic Business Forum 2018 presentations in order to gain new ideas and latest insights to develop better solutions for clients.

Nordic Business Forum is a high profile business conference held annually in Helsinki, Finland. Pöyry organized an independent live stream event for selected key experts and leaders at Pöyry House in Vantaa, Finland. This time the program was tied around three key themes of Strategy, Peak Performance and Artificial Intelligence. The themes connect closely with Pöyry’s ambition to be a High Performance Organisation (HPO), in which people are urged and empowered to seek new business opportunities and convert them into smart solutions.

Juuso Pajunen, Managing Director of Pöyry Finland Ltd, says that Pöyry wants to be the best in class in creating new innovative services, noting that events like Nordic Business Forum are a great way to encourage people to gain different perspectives, learn and get fresh ideas to create additional value for clients.

“A company is only as good as the people who make it. We wanted to provide our employees, or intrapreneurs, as we call ourselves, the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s most inspiring speakers to advance and foster the flow of new ideas among our talented people. We can only reach our targets if we constantly invest in our most valuable resource – people and their competence,” Juuso says.

Nicholas Oksanen, President of the Industry Business Group at Pöyry, sees multiple business opportunities related to the topics of this year’s conference.

“New ideas come from our talented people. We can speed up the innovations through good leadership and tools, such as Pöyry Innovation Platform, a digital space for idea sharing. Nordic Business Forum speaker topics support innovation, and help us further develop our services in the whole industry field’s value chain, from strategic advisory and smart site to artificial intelligence. Also, we received insights to support us in technology knowhow development in the bioeconomy field, for example lignin and MFC related applications. All this will create added value for our customers,” Nicholas explains.

Did you know? Pöyry’s mission is to build a company where talented people shape the world through projects that bring sustainable value to clients and society.
