PRESS RELEASE 1 Jul 2010

Pöyry acquires NUMEX - Europe's leading platform for nuclear power plant maintenance experience exchange

PÖYRY PLC          Press release 1 July 2010 at 4.15 p.m.

Pöyry has acquired 100 per cent of the shares of Brennus Ingénieurs Conseils SA, the company which runs NUMEX - Europe's leading platform for operators of nuclear power plants (NPP). NUMEX is renowned by the nuclear energy industry as a facilitator of exchange of NPP related maintenance experience and as a forum for best-practice maintenance procedures. The current members of NUMEX include NPP operators in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Finland, United Kingdom, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland.

"Through this joining of forces, Pöyry underlines its commitment to the nuclear energy sector and its strategy to provide solutions along the entire value chain of nuclear energy. With its more than 20 years of experience, NUMEX represents a wealth of experience which is not only important for today's operation of NPPs, but is also crucial as an input for the upcoming wave of investments into new nuclear power plants. With this acquisition, Pöyry will carry on with NUMEX's mission of enhancing valuable maintenance experience exchange between nuclear power plant managers and engineers worldwide," says Philipp Elkuch, President of Pöyry's Nuclear Business Area.

Pöyry is one of the world's leading independent engineering consultants in the nuclear sector where its services cover the entire lifecycle and all relevant aspects of nuclear energy, i.e. from early development phases to construction, operation, decommissioning and spent fuel disposal. The low life-cycle emissions of CO2 make nuclear power an increasingly viable alternative in the global energy production mix. Pöyry estimates that approximately 150 nuclear power plants are currently planned and promoted in the world. Pöyry is actively enhancing its capabilities to be well positioned to serve the growing nuclear sector.
