PÖYRY AWARDED CONTRACT FOR NEW RAIL LINE ALIGNMENT DESIGN IN GREECE
Pöyry's Infrastructure & Environment business group has been awarded a contract to undertake the alignment design of the new railway line Siatista-Kozani for the Greek National Railway Network. This project will be executed in co-operation with two Greek consultants, Salfo & Associates and S. Liaros - Helida Engineering Consultants. Pöyry's share of the contract is approximately EUR 1 million. The project will be completed in 12 months.
The contract comprises consultancy engineering services for reviewing and updating the existing feasibility study of the Hellenic Railways Organisation for the Siatista-Kozani segment. In order to optimise the technical characteristics of the line, the contract includes the designs of all the necessary civil works and the rehabilitation of the road network. The main structures are two tunnels of 1300 m and 650 m.
