PÖYRY PLC Press release 29 September 2009 at 2.15 p.m.
Pöyry has been awarded an engineering, procurement and supply contract for a 78 MW district heating system in Pucheng County, Shaanxi province, China. The value of the contract is EUR 4.2 million.
Pucheng Central Heating Company is installing a green field district heating system for the heating of residential and public buildings in the centre of Pucheng County. The heat will be supplied from a nearby coal-fired power plant which will be modified to combined heat and power operation. The project will improve air quality in the city by reducing the use of coal in the individual heating systems.
Pöyry's assignment includes engineering, procurement and supply of the components and supervision of installation and commissioning of the main heat exchanger station, heat transmission piping and consumer substations. The equipment will be supplied from Finland and China. The project is scheduled to start during the autumn 2009 and the first heat delivery will take place in autumn 2010. The project is financed by Finnish concessional credit and the contract becomes effective once the financing procedures are completed.
