PÖYRY AWARDED EUR 13 MILLION HYDROPOWER PLANT CONTRACT IN AUSTRIA

JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP OYJ Stock Exchange Notice
                           March 9, 2006 at 2.45 p.m.

PÖYRY AWARDED EUR 13 MILLION HYDROPOWER PLANT CONTRACT IN AUSTRIA

Pöyry's Energy business group has been awarded the detail design
contract and site supervision contract for the pumped storage power
scheme Limberg II by Austrian Hydro Power. The power plant is part of
the Glockner Kaprun Scheme in Austria and will dispose of an installed
capacity of 480 MW. The construction phase lasts until 2012. Pöyry's
order amounts to approximately EUR 13 million.

After a period of reserve, the market for construction of new hydro
power plants is making progress again in Europe. Of special importance
in this respect is the extension of capacities of pumped storage power
schemes. This special type of power plant enables energy supplying
companies to shift parts of the energy production from low tariff
periods to high tariff periods, which increases profitability of the
enterprises. Furthermore, these power plants serve to provide the
corresponding regular and stand-by capacity to the UCTE-net.

Pöyry is Austria's leading engineering and consulting company in the
energy, infrastructure and environmental sector.

Pöyry is a global consulting and engineering firm focusing on the
energy, forest industry and infrastructure & environment sectors.
Pöyry's annual net sales amount to about EUR 530 million and it employs
5600 experts.
