Pöyry Philippines partners up with Nordcham for Cleantech Innovation Luncheon
International consulting and engineering company Pöyry, partnered with the Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (Nordcham) for the annual Nordic Ambassadors’ Luncheon at the Fairmont Hotel, Makati City, Philippines, last October 3. The event, entitled 'Sustainability through World-leading Cleantech Innovation' brought together Nordic Ambassadors from Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, as well as top executives of case companies.
The panel discussion, moderated by Pöyry’s Renewable Energy Manager Lynn Dimayuga, focused on the best practices and innovations that were established by the said Nordic countries, in support of the Goals 7 and 13 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), geared towards affordable and clean energy and climate action.
The UN SDGs are the blueprint in addressing current global challenges which includes climate and environmental degradation.
In the panel discussion, it was highlighted that the partnership of the private and public sector is pivotal in actualizing goals for sustainable development, with private companies creating sustainable products and the government putting in place policies to move the country forward in terms of creating a truly sustainable environment.
