Pöyry to design a biofuel fired power plant for Hämeenkyrön Voima, Finland

Pöyry's Energy business group has been awarded an agreement by Hämeenkyrön Voima Oy for the engineering services of a biofuel fired power plant to be built in the M-real Kyro mill area.
The agreement covers power plant design and construction planning as well as interface design for existing systems. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the agreement.
The biofuel fired power plant will supply electricity and process steam to M-real's Kyro mill and district heating to the population centres of the municipality of Hämeenkyrö. Biofuel will replace the use of natural gas as a fuel after the commissioning of the power plant.
