Pöyry wins at 2016 Engineering Awards in Brazil
Nominated for its role in the areas of Consulting, Projects and Management in Transportation Infrastructure, Pöyry Brazil is recognised for the second consecutive year.
At the 9th Annual Engineering Awards in Brazil, Pöyry came top in the Heavy Civil Construction category – for consulting, projects and infrastructure management in transportation in the mining sector.
Promoted by the Association of Former Students of the Engineering School of Minas Gerais Federal University (AEAEE-UFMG), this is the second consecutive year in which Pöyry has won an award. In 2015, Pöyry came top in the Consulting and Engineering category.

Pöyry occupies this position due to our competence in the development of studies, projects and management of large infrastructure projects in several places around the world. Being recognised nationally for our role in the transportation segment demonstrates our successful delivery of projects for our clients and helping them face the challenges of the current economic scenario,” said Gerald Zahn, Pöyry’s Infrastructure head in Brazil.
The top engineering prize recognises the best suppliers of engineering services to industry including construction, mining and metals, telecommunications, health, energy, agriculture and automotive sectors. Voting is by members of AEAEE-UFMG and company directors from industry; the criteria includes area of operation, quality of services, costs / benefits, technological innovation and presence in the market.
The award ceremony was held on the evening of 6th October 2016 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais state, Brazil.
