Holiday Club Saimaa, Finland

Located by the Lake Saimaa in Lappeenranta, Eastern Finland, Holiday Club Saimaa is a spa hotel targeted to attract families, holiday travellers and congress visitors. The resort comprises a hotel, restaurants, congress facilities, a spa offering various treatments and sports facilities (ice hockey, bowling, badminton, gym). A 18-hole golf course will be built later in the area.

The spa hotel is 30 000 sq.m. in size, including both new building and renovation. The spa, sports arenas, congress center and hotel are situated in the new part.

The old main building (5 000 sq.m.) is turned into a sophisticated, castle-style hotel. On its southern side, a castle yard and terraces provide excellent surroundings for the summer restaurant. The old administration building hosts a day spa with wellness services. Special attention was paid to both of the old buildings, which are protected due to their high historical value.

Holiday Club Saimaa was a Pöyry Integrated Desing & Delivery (PID) project, which means that Pöyry provided all design, engineering and project management services.

The project is an integral part of larger plan to create a comprehensive resort comprising various leisure activities and providing accommodation for 8 000 people in the area.
