Running fully underground, the Yellow Line 4 a major undertaking in the Sao Paulo Metropolitan Region, an area with 16.8 million inhabitants. The project aims to improve the quality and long-term sustainability of urban transport as well as to improve access for low-income population areas to other city areas.

The first phase consisted of five stations, a yard, a workshop and 13 train sets and the second phase comprises 14 stations and 23 train sets. Pöyry has provided Project Management Oversight Consulting Services (PMOC), acting as advisor to the client's Project Manager and providing the technical support and international experience required for managing the project. The goal is to ensure the project success by meeting the defined project cost, schedule, and quality objectives and ensuring that available resources are used in the most effective and efficient manner.
