JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP APPOINTED MAIN ENGINEERING CONSULTANT FOR METSÄ-BOTNIA'S NEW FIBRE LINE AT JOUTSENO
Jaakko Pöyry Oy and JP-Kakko Oy, which are part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group, have been appointed main engineering consultants for Oy Metsä-Botnia Ab Joutseno Pulp's new fibre line. The project comprises complete engineering services for the new debarking/chipping plant and fibre line and for changes in the pulp drying machine. The value of the deal is about EUR 8 million.
Most of the engineering work for the debarking/chipping plant and the fibre line will be carried out in Jaakko Pöyry Oy's offices at Vantaa, whereas engineering work for changes in the pulp drying machine and inter-departmental connections will be done in JP-Engineering Oy's offices in Kouvola and Joutseno.
The PULP2000 project will start immediately and the new fibre line is scheduled for start-up in early July, 2001. The new line will have a production capacity of 600 000 tons of bleached softwood pulp a year.
