JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP AWARDED EUR 3 MILLION OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE CONTRACT IN THE PHILIPPINES
Electrowatt-Ekono Philippines, Inc., which is part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Energy business group, has been awarded an operation and maintenance (O&M) contract by CIPP II Power Corporation. The total contract value is EUR 3 million.
The award is an extension for a further three years of a previous operation and maintenance contract for the 21 MW fuel oil fired independent power plant located south of Manila. The plant operates on an island mode basis requiring continuous power supply for 365 days per annum. Electrowatt-Ekono Philippines has been performing the O&M for CIPP since 2000.
CIPP is the Philippine subsidiary of Ascendas of Singapore, a major player in industrial estate and property developments in Asia.
O&M services are of strategic value for the Energy business group as they form part of the total solution approach being offered to clients in selected markets.
The Energy Business Group, operating under the brand name Electrowatt-Ekono, had net sales of EUR 146 million in 2004. Electrowatt-Ekono has offices in 22 countries and employs 1500 experts worldwide.
