JAAKKO PÖYRY GROUP TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR STORA ENSO'S NEW SC PAPER MACHINE IN KVARNSVEDEN
Jaakko Pöyry Oy, which is part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Forest Industry business group, has been commissioned to provide engineering services for Metso Paper's SC paper machine delivery to Stora Enso's Kvarnsveden mill in Sweden. Jaakko Pöyry Oy served as Metso's engineer also in the project's pre-engineering phase.
Jaakko Pöyry's assignment consists of process, mechanical, electrical and automation engineering for the paper manufacturing line. With a wire width of 11.3 m and a design speed of 2000 m/min, the new PM 12 will be the world's biggest paper machine, producing 420 000 t/a of top-quality SC magazine paper. The new production line is scheduled to start up by the end of 2005.
Metso Paper's delivery comprises the papermaking machinery, excluding the mill building. The delivery includes the paper machine equipment, process systems, auxiliary equipment, electrification and services. Control and monitoring systems will be delivered by Metso Automation.
The Jaakko Pöyry Group's Forest Industry business group operates under the brand name Jaakko Pöyry. Its net sales for 2003 were EUR 176 million. The Forest Industry business group has offices in 18 countries and employs 2100 experts worldwide.
