Pöyry awarded engineering and project management for the Holiday Club Saimaa spa in Finland

Pöyry has signed contracts with Holiday Club Resorts Oy, Finland for complete design engineering and project management services for the Saimaa hotel and spa. The value of the contracts exceeds EUR 3 million.
The Holiday Club Saimaa resort in Joutseno has a total floor area of 30 000 gr-m2 including both new construction and renovation, of which new construction totals 23 000 gr-m2. The hotel and spa form a central part of the Saimaa Gardens recreation facilities. It is expected that about 8000 guests can be accommodated at the facilities by 2020.
Pöyry has participated in the project from its creation and conceptual design. Pöyry is responsible for the architectural, structural, building services and water treatment engineering as well as for project management. The construction includes a spa with treatment facilities, a hotel and restaurants, and meeting and sports facilities. Pöyry's services will be completed in summer 2011.
Pöyry has cooperated successfully with Holiday Club Resorts Oy for the past ten years. Previously completed projects include Holiday Club in Åre, Sweden and Holiday Club St. Petersburg (currently Sokos Palace Bridge) in Russia.
