PÖYRY AWARDED EUR 1.3 MILLION RAILWAY ENGINEERING ASSIGNMENT IN BULGARIA
Pöyry has been awarded an engineering contract by the Ministry of Transport of Bulgaria for the design for the rehabilitation of the railway line between Sofia and Plovdiv. The value of the contract is about EUR 1.3 million.
This project is part of the PAN-European Corridors IV and VIII, which cover Bulgaria from North to South and Southeast (Corridor IV). The objective of this project is rehabilitation of a 156 km long section between Sofia and Plovdiv as well as securing the technical interoperability conditions in line with the EU's Trans-European transport network programme. Pöyry's services include the preliminary investment survey, feasibility study and technical design for approval.
The assignment is Pöyry's third transportation project in Bulgaria and an important milestone in the consolidation of Pöyry's position in the strongly growing transportation markets of Eastern Europe.
