Pöyry receives safety recognition from Southern Power Generation

Southern Power Generation, a project company owned by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and SIPP Energy Sdn Bhd, recently posted five million safe hours without lost time incident (LTI) for Track 4A 1440 MW combined cycle power plant. The project, located in Johor, Malaysia, consists of two 720 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle blocks, with distillate as backup fuel.
Pöyry received recognition for its significant contribution in achieving this safety milestone, in the role of the project’s Owner’s Engineer.
Pöyry's assignment includes assistance in project management, design review, site supervision services, quality assurance and quality control, commissioning supervision services and services during warranty period.
Pöyry Malaysia’s Managing Director, Kishore Dass, said this achievement emphasizes the importance that Southern Power Generation puts when it comes to adhering to best practices on safety. “As Owner’s Engineer, together with Southern Power Generation and all contractors involved, we at Pöyry ensure that safety and quality are built into each phase of the project.
