The municipality of Brno, with about 370,000 inhabitants the second largest city in the Czech Republic, awarded Pöyry with the reconstruction and extension of the urban sewerage system.
Pöyry's services cover the preparation of a tender and project documentation including the supervision of the works in the period 2012 - 2013.
The project consists of the reconstruction and extension of 13 structures. The planning of these activities must ensure that the function of the Brno sewer system is uninterrupted during the works.
The project complies with the goals specified by the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/EC, the Czech Government's environmental policy and the goal concerning the achievement of good state of surface and ground waters in the whole EU territory.
