Repower is a large Swiss energy company with operations in more than 20 countries across Europe. Vertical integration has allowed Repower to be a major player in the wholesale market from three main trading centers. Repower wanted a new trading business model to improve trading across their operations while improving risk management and ensuing proper business oversight and control.
They asked Pöyry Management Consulting to develop help because of our deep industry knowledge, global perspective and local market knowledge. We developed a new trading model that clearly details roles and responsibilities, defines the portfolio structure and outlines the management processes needed to support the business in target markets. We examined risk policies, governance and risk metrics to establish a limit system and allocation of risk capital. Repower now has a coordinated business model that leverages the synergies of its trading centers and improves risk management.
