The Spice shopping centre is located on the West Bank of the Daugava river at 5 km from the old city of Riga. It is at the centre of the New Riga district, and area that has undergone rapid development. More than half of the nearby residents live in single detached private housing and their income is in the upper/middle levels.

The aim of the development of the Spice was to answer the needs of the growing population. Built in 2001, with 25 000 sq.m. of leasable space, it is now 50 000 sq.m., therefore one of the largest in Riga. Spice offers a wide array of retail, entertainment and services being an important destination not only for essential goods but also for the leisure of the people of New Riga and all the way to the town of Jurmala.

Our role in the enlargement and repositioning of Spice was to provide a coherent and feasible commercial concept and to elaborate a new image. We then proceeded to design the new entrance, facades and public interiors and provide the main marketing material (design guideline manual, 3D video).
