We can really differentiate ourselves from any competition in a true way which can generate real buy-in.
On leaving school I chose to study Paper Science at the University of Manchester. I felt that by choosing a niche science degree it would give me good opportunities to travel and an interesting career path. I wasn’t to be disappointed. Prior to joining Pöyry 12 years ago I spent a year in Germany in research before coming back to the UK spending six years at a papermill and taking a Government role for three more years. I joined Pöyry as a consultant in 2006, based in the London office. Since that time my responsibilities have increased significantly, but my focus has remained on the pulp and paper industry. Not only do we have a wonderful level of expertise but there is always someone working – not only does the sun never set at Midsummer in Finland. But the sun never sets on Pöyry – there is always one of our experts working somewhere in the world we can call on! Perhaps the thing I enjoy most about working for Pöyry though is that we can really differentiate ourselves from any competition in a true way which can generate real buy-in. Of course this doesn’t mean that we can stand still as an organisation. Thankfully we don’t!
